Bob’s Discount Furniture was honored to have employees with military ties present their Café Collection for a Cause donation to Operation Homefront at the furniture company’s distribution center in Taftville, CT.
Through the generous donations from guests and a match from Bob’s, a check for $38,000 was presented to the military relief organization. Funds were collected in 164 Bob’s Cafés nationwide from September 1 to Dec. 31, 2022.
Nine Bob’s employees with a combined 81 years of military service, lined up beneath military branch flags with a Bob’s delivery truck behind them to present the check to Joe O’Hara, Area Director, Northeast of Operation Homefront.
Since partnering with Operation Homefront four years ago, Bob’s has contributed $250,000 to the organization and supported Operation Homefront’s signature programs including Back-to-School Brigade, Holiday Meals for the Military, and Permanent Homes for Veterans (formerly known as Homes on the Homefront).
O’Hara thanked the men for the service and graciously accepted the donation.
“Bob’s is an incredible corporate partner because they share our passion for helping such a deserving population in many different ways,” O’Hara stated.
“We are very grateful for our strong partnership with Bob’s Discount Furniture and thank them for their friendship, generosity and compassion,” he added.
Since the partnership began, Bob’s has been able to support Operation Homefront through financial contributions, furniture donations and volunteer events. “Operation Homefront has been able to connect Bob’s with military families in need and it’s been an honor to give back to those individuals who have given their all for our country,” said Lindsay Ruszczyk, Bob’s Director of Community Outreach.
Closing out the day’s ceremonial events, Pete Sorrentino, Senior Vice President of Distribution, spoke of “pride” and the overwhelming feeling of honor to have service members choose Bob’s for employment and for them represent the company during this moment.
