Bright and early on Thanksgiving morning, Boston Bruins’ Charlie McAvoy made a special delivery of Bob’s Discount Furniture mattresses, pillows and power recliners to the residents of the Brighton Marine center. Located just two miles from the Bruins’ practice facility, Brighton Marine supports uniformed service members, retirees, veterans, and their families.
I have always enjoyed watching McAvoy show his defense skills on the ice, but boy was I surprised to learn he’s also an expert bedmaker! After helping carry in the mattresses, McAvoy jumped right in making beds with Bruins’ themed bedding provided by the team.
I was honored to be part of the Bob’s Discount Furniture team for this delivery of 15 mattresses and pillows as well as 5 power recliners. I offered to help McAvoy carry in the pieces, but he had it all covered!
Young Bruins’ fans gathered outside the Brighton Marine Center where McAvoy took time to sign autographs. I was willing to sign my autograph too, but I didn’t find any takers! Next time!

McAvoy also delivered 400 pies and 300 pairs of Boston Bruins Winter Classic Socks to local organizations during the day.

The Bruins organization also assisted my Bob’s team in a delivery of mattresses for residents of the Fisher House Boston earlier in the week.
In other military support, Bob’s is Bob’s is fundraising for Operation Homefront in all 164 Bob’s Discount Furniture cafes nationwide through December and has participated in Holiday Meals for the Military event this past November.
