5 Tips for Hosting a Spring Brunch!

It’s official. Winter’s almost over. The days are getting longer and the sun is shining brighter. Now that hibernation season is done, it’s time to welcome the change in season. What better way than to open the blinds, let the sunshine in, set a welcoming yet casual table, and have some friends over for brunch!

Celebrate spring

It’s the time of new life. The grass is getting green again. Flowers are blooming. Consider using colorful plates to set the tone. Go neutral with your napkins. And surprise your guests with a flower at each place-setting.

Make spring your centerpiece

Create a gorgeous centerpiece with some annuals. Put them in a basket and cover the pots with moss or wrap with table linens. Your guests will love the burst of colorful new life! And once the ground is ready for them, you can transplant the annuals into your yard or to decorative pots.

Mimosas anyone?

Nothing says brunch like an abundance of fresh juices. And consider opening some bubbly – you don’t even need to spurge on Champagne – Prosecco from Italy and Cava from Spain both go wonderfully with juice. And if you’re feeling very intrepid, also offer Bellinis or Bloodys!

Keep it casual

After all – it’s brunch – and most likely your guests will still be sleepy. So offer fresh fruit and pastries, the kinds of things that would be okay with either a fork or fingers. Berries are a nice touch too now that they are coming into season again!

Focus on friends

Now that we’re all done with hibernating – toast the friends who’ve helped you welcome the spring. And make some fun plans for summer while you’re at it!

I consider myself the luckiest spokespuppet ever because I get to talk about the thing I love the most everyday – furniture! Tufted headboards, rustic finishes, the difference between a sofa and a couch (yes, there is a difference)… I could go on and on. Oh, I just love furniture and I’m SO excited that I have this blog to share my passion with you! It may take me a little longer to create posts – have you ever tried typing with clay hands – but I look forward to talking furniture with you!
