I love welcoming Fall by inviting guests into our Bob’s Discount Furniture Cafés for a free warm cup of coffee and the opportunity to donate to our Café Collections for a Cause partner Operation Homefront. All of the money collected in more than 160 cafés nationwide from October 1 to December 31 will be donated to Operation Homefront with a dollar-for-dollar match up to $75,000.
Operation Homefront is proud to state: “Our mission is to build strong, stable, and secure military families so that they can thrive – not simply struggle to get by – in the communities- OUR COMMUNITIES- that they worked so hard to protect.”
Bob’s has proudly partnered with Operation Homefront for four years and helped to raise almost $200,000 for the organization.

Helping our active military and veterans through the good work of Operation Homefront really warms my little spokespuppet heart – I know you’re thinking, “How is that possible? He’s made of wood!” But I assure you, every donation animates my soul!
In addition to Café Collections for a Cause, Bob’s is an ongoing sponsor of Operation Homefront’s Holiday Meals for the Military program. Annually, Bob’s employees volunteer at the Armed Forces Reserve Center in Middletown, Connecticut packing up holiday meals for military families.
Last year my team was able to pack and distribute 100 meals in one afternoon–this year funding will allow my team to contribute even more. Joe O’Hara, Area Director for Operation Homefront, said he anticipates more than 15,000 military families will be fed through the event this year nationwide.
“With higher prices impacting all of us, military families need our help, and a meal can provide a much-needed financial lift for them at just the right moment,” said O’Hara.
Additionally, Bob’s has partnered with Operation Homefront to fill furniture needs for active military and veterans.
Last year I was so excited to partner with the Green Bay Packers and Operation Homefront to deliver mattresses to military families in the Green Bay area. You should have seen me alongside Packers’ former cornerback Jarrett Bush- we really made a big impression on fan Nick Boyett who was surprised by the donation. Funny though, no one asked for my autograph!
Celebrating their twentieth anniversary this year, Operation Homefront has provided programs that offer relief through critical financial assistance and transitional housing programs, resiliency through permanent housing and caregiver support services, and recurring family support with programs and services throughout the year.
