Make Room for Living in your Living Room!

If you’re like me, you spend a lot of time in your living room. It’s your space to relax and unwind, but it also plays host to game nights, movies, drinks with friends, playtime for the kids, and more. You might say you practically live in it! So whenever it comes time to organize and upgrade your living room, you deserve multifunctional furniture to match your multifunctional space! Let’s take a look at some ways you can make room in your living room for, well, living!

Storage Sectionals

Lots of us have occasionally used our living room as a guest bedroom, offering up a couch for a friend or family member to occupy for the night.

If you’re a perennial entertainer, a sectional with storage and sleeper options makes a lot of sense!

Along with their pop-up sleeper functionality, the storage chaise is perfect for storing bedding for your guests or extra blankets for a cozy night in.

Storage Benches

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again- having kids means having stuff. If your living room is a family room, you need ample space to keep toys out of the way, but you also want things available when they’re needed. Storage benches like my June, Carol, and Anna offer just that, and they double as seating! You can hide away kids toys, board games, and more so they’re there when you need them, but they stay out of the way when you don’t. I understand the importance of keeping kids toys neat and tidy!

A storage ottoman can also fill the same need- they’re great for storing throw pillows and blankets as well! They’re a comfortable seat, or a rest for your feet, and I have enough variety that you’ll find one to work in nearly any style of living room!

Coffee Tables and End Tables

It almost goes without saying that coffee tables and end tables make great storage solutions, whether you’re just hiding the remote (or trying to find a place where it won’t get lost) or storing coasters and reading material. A lift-top coffee table can be perfect for all the things you need handy but hidden.

Entertainment Centers & Consoles

Entertainment centers are also common storage solutions. They provide your room with a focal point, as well as ample storage and display space. For example, my Montana provides nicely lit display spaces so you can showcase personal items that make your house a home.

Bob

I consider myself the luckiest spokespuppet ever because I get to talk about the thing I love the most everyday – furniture! Tufted headboards, rustic finishes, the difference between a sofa and a couch (yes, there is a difference)… I could go on and on. Oh, I just love furniture and I’m SO excited that I have this blog to share my passion with you! It may take me a little longer to create posts – have you ever tried typing with clay hands – but I look forward to talking furniture with you!
