It’s the grand finale of the holiday season: New Year’s Eve! It’s time to rejoice and welcome 2021 with a little bubbly. And what better way to celebrate than to style your own New Year’s Eve bar cart?
With a few great pieces and a touch of personal flair, you’ll be on your way to end the year with a splash.
The Cart
You can’t style a bar cart without having a bar cart! So roll out the red (or better yet, gold) carpet for the main attraction. My Holli bar cart does just the trick. It’s small enough to move around on a whim but roomy enough for pouring and mixing drinks. A great accent in any room, and the centerpiece for this DIY project.
The Champagne Tower
Instantly heighten the drama by stacking a tower of champagne coupe glasses. If you’re worried about tumbling glass, it’s fine to use plastic. For the smoothest results, fill each coupe with champagne before placing in the tower, and be sure to stack in sturdy layers so nothing spills before everyone’s ready for the midnight toast!
Accenting Your Space
New Year’s Eve is a great time for reflection, and nothing reflects like silver and gold! Bring some sparkle to your space with gold and silver metallic accents, maybe even a little glitter! A touch of faux fur — like a nice bench, shag rug, or glamorous chair — can also soften the space with some plush relief if anyone needs to recharge before the ball drops.
Decor Essentials
Now, the finishing touches to make your New Year’s Eve space really shine. Eye-catching pieces like a gold star, or festive signs — think “The Bar is Open!” or “Poppin’ Bottles” — can liven up the scene in an instant. A wall sign can be a big flourish. Trying stringing up messages like “Cheers,” “Happy New Year” or “2021” in twinkling lights, or pick up a pre-made sign to add a good ambient light if you want to dim the over head lights.
We’ve saved the best for last: get some confetti, bottles of champagne or another favorite drink, and a decanter if you need. You can also nominate a trusted friend to co-host and help with popping bottles at midnight. Here’s to a celebration to remember.
Happy New Year!
