JERSEY CITY, NJ – September 9, 2021 – Bob’s Discount Furniture, one of the largest and fastest growing furniture retailers in the United States, teamed up with the New York Giants to supply 35 new mattresses to the Jersey City Fire Department. The donation honors the fire department that was one of the first New Jersey departments to respond on 9/11. The mattresses will be distributed amongst several Jersey City firehouses based on need.
On hand to assist with the donation was Giants Legend Rich Seubert, who also took time to meet with firefighters and sign autographs. Seubert was a member of the 2001 Giants team that took part in the team’s community outreach following the 9/11 tragedy.
“Community outreach is pillar of Bob’s Discount Furniture’s identity and we are honored to be working with the New York Giants honoring the Jersey City Fire Department,” said Lindsay Ruszczyk, Bob’s Director of Communications. “As we remember the 20th anniversary of 9/11, we want to show our appreciation for our first responders and the work they do day in and day out to make our communities a safer place.”
