North Attleboro, MA – (December 15, 2022) – The Joe Andruzzi Foundation (JAF), providing help, hope, and a reason to smile for New England cancer patients and their families through financial support when it’s needed most, delivered two Bob’s Discount Furniture mattress sets to two cancer patients in North Attleboro and Attleboro on Thursday, December 15.
Three-time Super Bowl champion, former New England Patriot and JAF Chief Engagement Officer Joe Andruzzi and JAF President and CEO Jen Andruzzi were on hand for the deliveries to local families, which included new sheet sets and comforters provided by the Foundation.
The two recipients were Dean Tello, 54, of North Attleboro, who is diagnosed with Stage IV gastrointestinal cancer, and Adelia Medeiros, 59, of Attleboro, diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer.
“We are so thrilled that we raised enough funds on Giving Tuesday to support our recipients like Adelia and Dean, this holiday season,” said Jen Andruzzi, President and CEO, Joe Andruzzi Foundation. “We hope that today’s deliveries brought joy and removed some of the stress these families feel as they continue their fight against this horrific disease.”
This year, the Joe Andruzzi Foundation raised $50,000 on Giving Tuesday, as part of their campaign to ‘Put Financial Toxicity to Bed.’ Bob’s Discount Furniture matched all donations up to $25,000, and for every $5,000 raised, Bob’s donated a mattress that will be delivered to a cancer patient in at least six states. In total, ten mattress sets are scheduled to be donated to Joe Andruzzi Foundation cancer patients throughout New England.
“We couldn’t be prouder to be affiliated with an exceptional organization like the Joe Andruzzi Foundation,” said Rob Ringler, Regional Manager for Bob’s Discount Furniture. “Their mission of providing year-round help and financial relief to cancer patients in New England is the true essence of the holiday spirit. We hope our investment provides additional support to the Foundation while offering direct assistance to those New Englanders that need it most.”
The Joe Andruzzi Foundation helps New Englanders battling cancer through a variety of grants including Household Assistance, Extraordinary Needs, Food Security Assistance, Transportation Assistance, (Up)Beat Opportunities and additional resources. In 2021, more than $1 million was distributed in direct assistance to help 3,762 individuals with financial assistance to pay for housing, transportation, utilities, food, insurance, and other household expenses.

About The Joe Andruzzi Foundation:
The Joe Andruzzi Foundation is committed to providing help, hope, and a reason to smile, for New England cancer patients and their families by contributing financial support when it is needed most. Founded in 2008 by former New England Patriots three-time Super Bowl Champion offensive guard Joe Andruzzi and his wife Jen, the Joe Andruzzi Foundation grew out of Joe’s own successful battle with cancer and the couple’s ongoing work with young cancer patients. In 2007, Joe’s football career abruptly ended when he was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s Burkitt’s lymphoma. Disease-free less than a year later, Joe and Jen chose to dedicate their lives towards solving the financial distress a cancer diagnosis can cause in the lives of patients and families.
