Bob’s is excited to welcome Special Olympics back as a Café Collections for a Cause partner this month! We’re inviting guests to stop by any Bob’s store café to have a treat on us and to make a donation to support Special Olympics, now through March 31. We’ll match your donations dollar-for-dollar up to $75,000, so the more you give, the more we give! You can also donate online by clicking here.

Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for all children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, prepare for entry into school and community programs, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympic athletes and the community.
Since partnering with Special Olympics in 2014, Bob’s has contributed more than $500,000 to the organization, largely thanks to the generous donations from our guests! Donations will directly support the Special Olympics state chapter where the contribution is made. “We are so proud of our longstanding relationship with Special Olympics,’” said Lindsay Ruszczyk, Communications and Community Outreach Director. “We look forward to inviting guests to join us in supporting the communities where we do business.”
In addition to fundraising for Special Olympics in our stores during our Café Collections for a Cause campaign, Bob’s employees from stores across the country will fundraise and participate in local Polar Plunge events. Last year, through fundraising and sponsorship, Bob’s helped to contribute more than $10,000 to local Special Olympics chapters through polar plunge participation. Check out your local Special Olympics chapter to learn more about a Polar Plunge near you and contribute to a Bob’s plunge team where participating!
“Over the past ten years, Bob’s Discount Furniture has taken its dedication to enriching the lives of those with intellectual disabilities to new heights,” said Mary Beth McMahon, our President & CEO of Special Olympics Massachusetts. “Thank you to Bob’s and their incredible customers, staff and leadership for showing what it means to choose to include!”
