Helping Serve America’s Military Families

I am very proud to announce that for the second year in a row, all money donated by YOU during the fourth quarter will be presented to Operation Homefront as part of our Café Collections for a Cause program.

Every one of our 135+ stores across the country has a donation box in the Café with a statue of yours truly! From now until the end of 2020, my team and I will collect all of your donations and then provide a dollar-for-dollar match up to $75,000 for a possible total donation of $150,000.

Operation Homefront is a national organization whose mission is to build strong, stable, and secure military families so that they can thrive – not simply struggle to get by – in the communities that they have worked so hard to protect. Recognized for superior performance by leading independent charity oversight groups, over 90 percent of Operation Homefront expenditures go directly to programs that support tens of thousands of military families each year. Operation Homefront provides critical financial assistance, transitional and permanent housing, and family support services to prevent short-term needs from turning into chronic, long-term struggles.

Bob’s Donates $75,000 to Operation Homefront

A BIG thank you to everyone who donated during the fourth quarter last year to Operation Homefront as part of my Café Collections for a Cause program. Your generous donations made it possible for Bob’s to present Operation Homefront with a check for $75,000, earlier this year at my Falls Church, Virginia store.

Brig. Gen. (ret) John I. Pray Jr. (left), president and CEO of Operation Homefront accepts a check for $75,000 from Duane McGowan, store manager, Falls Church, VA, and Maurice Mckisset, store manager, Waldorf, MD.

The Start of Great Partnership

We began our partnership with Operation Homefront last summer by presenting them with a check for $18,000 at my Saugus, MA store. Lindsay Ruszczyk, Bob’s Director of Communications spoke with John Pray, the President and CEO of Operation Homefront to discuss the mission of the organizations and highlight some of their programming.

Bob

I consider myself the luckiest spokespuppet ever because I get to talk about the thing I love the most everyday – furniture! Tufted headboards, rustic finishes, the difference between a sofa and a couch (yes, there is a difference)… I could go on and on. Oh, I just love furniture and I’m SO excited that I have this blog to share my passion with you! It may take me a little longer to create posts – have you ever tried typing with clay hands – but I look forward to talking furniture with you!
