Bob’s Sends Donations to Assist Ukrainian Refugees

There’s no doubt that the images we are seeing from Ukraine are heart-wrenching. The latest numbers are hard to fathom: Two million refugees have now fled Ukraine, including at least one million children. These individuals on the move are at risk of hunger, illness, trafficking and abuse.

Bob’s would be remiss if we didn’t play a part in helping families who are unsure where their next meal will come from, and whether they will have a roof over their head. As a company, as a community; we believe that home is everything. That’s why we are making a donation to World Central Kitchen and Save the Children, two organizations who help refugees find some comfort – be it a cot, a meal, the little things that many of us take for granted and many still desperately need.

Unfortunately, it will come as no surprise to hear that there are families in need all over the world including in the U.S., which is why we feel these organizations are well-suited for our donation.

Once the displaced Ukrainian families reach our shores, we will look to support local refugee organizations with mattresses and other furniture donations to make those families feel comfortable and welcome in the United States as we have done during the conflicts in Syria and Afghanistan.

Feeling “at home” is a fundamental need that we humans all share, and it breaks our heart when that need is denied. This very simple, yet universal notion of the importance of our homes is the basis of our mission as a company: Everyone deserves a home they love. We hope the situation in Ukraine deescalates quickly so the refugees can return to the homes they love.

I consider myself the luckiest spokespuppet ever because I get to talk about the thing I love the most everyday – furniture! Tufted headboards, rustic finishes, the difference between a sofa and a couch (yes, there is a difference)… I could go on and on. Oh, I just love furniture and I’m SO excited that I have this blog to share my passion with you! It may take me a little longer to create posts – have you ever tried typing with clay hands – but I look forward to talking furniture with you!
