Bob’s Discount Furniture Donates $200K to National Hunger Relief Organizations Across the Country

Manchester, CT – November 17, 2023 – Bob’s Discount Furniture, one of the fastest growing omnichannel furniture retailers in the country, is proud to announce that the company has donated $176,000 in November to hunger relief organizations across the country.

November 7th, Bob’s Discount Furniture Charitable Foundation dispersed donations to 176 food assistance organizations nationwide located near its stores and distribution centers. This year marks the 10th anniversary of Bob’s contributions to hunger relief during the holiday season, having contributed $1,767,000 thus far.

“For more than ten years, Bob’s Discount Furniture and its employees have been proud to support food pantries in our communities,” said Bob Kaufman, president emeritus and co-founder of Bob’s Discount Furniture. “We know that many people struggle to feed their families, and we’re hoping these donations will help provide meals to those in need this holiday season.” 

Orange Community Services has been a recipient of Bob’s giving since the program started a decade ago. Stacey Johnson, Director of Orange Community Services underscores the significance of Bob’s ongoing support, “For the past 10 years, Bob’s Foundation has donated over $15,000 to the Orange Community Assistance Fund to help support our efforts in combating food and fuel insecurity for Orange residents. Thank you, Bob’s Foundation. We are honored and grateful to have you as a partner.”

This year, Bob’s also contributed $25,000 in recognition of National Food Bank Day, to support eight food assistance nonprofits located around its newly opened stores in Glen Burnie and Bowie, Maryland, Middletown, New York, and Orange, Connecticut. Other ways Bob’s supports hunger relief is through participation in meal packing events. Most recently Robert Ringler, regional director of Bob’s Discount Furniture, led a team of Bob’s volunteers at an event in Boston, Mass. honoring 9/11, which produced nearly seven million meals.
