Happy New Year to everyone!
The beginning of the New Year brings the start to my first quarter Café Collections for a Cause campaign to benefit Special Olympics.
Every quarter my outreach team and I collect all of the donations from YOU in every Bob’s Café and then match 100% of that amount. Bob’s will match up to $75,000 of all donations received in all of our Cafés for a maximum contribution of up to $150,000. All of the money raised during the first quarter of 2020 will go to Special Olympics.
Empowering Athletes For Over Five Decades
Since its founding in 1968, Special Olympics has helped create a better world by fostering the acceptance and inclusion of all people.
Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for all children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, prepare for entry into school and community programs, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills and friendships with their families, other Special Olympic athletes and the community.
The impact that Special Olympics has had on the global community over the past five decades is really amazing! Just check out these stats:
- 5,468,333 athletes
- 106,300 competitions
- 1,151,088 volunteers
- 193 countries
- 176,203 athlete health screenings
- 17% increase in unified teammates
How To Donate
Making a donation to Special Olympics is easy and fun to do! Just stop by your nearest Bob’s Discount Furniture and visit the Café where you’ll find a statue of your favorite spokespuppet and a donation box. Donate whatever you can – every cent helps! Then treat yourself to a complimentary snack or cup of coffee.
I’m accepting donations for the Special Olympics in all of my 120+ Cafés across the country until the end of March.
Time for the Big Check
After all the donations have been tallied and I’ve provided my dollar-for-dollar match, I’ll present a BIG check to Special Olympics. I’m proud to say that with your help, Bob’s has donated $347,000 to Special Olympics since 2014. Now, give yourself a big high five for that!
