Bob’s Discount Furniture and Los Angeles Chargers Surprise ‘Hometown Hero’ with Room Makeover

Bob’s recently teamed up with the Los Angeles Chargers to honor a Santa Ana, California teen after his quick actions saved his family from a house fire.

Earlier this year, Juan Hermosillo awoke in the early morning hours to the smell of smoke in his family home. After seeing plumes of black smoke coming from his parents’ bedroom, Juan acted quickly to alert the family and attempted to extinguish the flames. While his mother and other family members were able to escape, Juan courageously rescued his sleeping stepfather from the fire.

In September, Juan received an Orange County Fire Authority Life Saving certificate in a special ceremony to honor his actions. He was also recognized via a special announcement at a recent Chargers game, where Camieo Johnson, my store manager from Huntington Beach, CA, was on-hand to present Juan and his family with a surprise room makeover from Bob’s.

Johnson and Bob’s Showroom Manager Jonathan Arita assisted the Hermosillo family in measuring their room and selecting the new furniture for the donation. The family had a blast on their shopping trip and we were happy to help them design the room of their dreams.

A short time later, the BOBtastic Delivery Experience team arrived at the Hermosillo home with their new furniture. Members of the Los Angeles Chargers organization, including members of the Chargers Girl squad, were also on-hand to thank the teen for his courage and selflessness.
