How to Find the Right Stool Height
In terms of height, not all stools are created equal so you want to make sure you select a stool that best fits the use of the room and the existing counters and furniture. Start by measuring the counter/table height. Also, take into account at least 10 to 12 inches of legroom. Then, use my handy chart below to determine the size of the stool you need.
How to Select The Right Number
of Stools
The number of stools in your seating area should be determined by the amount of space you can leave between each, especially if they swivel or have arms! Use the width of the stool as a guideline to determine the proper spacing between stools. If the stools up to 18 inches wide, leave at least 6 inches in between each. If they’re over 18 inches wide or have armrests, leave at least 8 to 10 inches in between each.
